Through effective law enforcement, juvenile justice programs, emergency response and recovery and homeland security preparedness, DPS employees help to ensure North Carolina is a safe place to live, work and visit.

Final Judgment Ordered in Burke County Nuisance Case
After numerous ongoing criminal and drug-related offenses, along with repeated community complaints, Burke County Sheriff Banks Hinceman sought assistance from the Alcohol Law Enforcement Division to address a property in Morganton through a civil nuisance abatement action.
