Deputy Secretary for Partnership Engagement

Caroline Valand was appointed chief deputy secretary to the department's updated Administration Division on Feb. 1, 2025.

Valand will lead the department’s efforts in partnership engagement, finance, information technology, as well as policy. Previously, she served as the department’s deputy secretary for partnership engagement, overseeing a variety of sections including the Governor’s Crime Commission; Office of Violence Prevention; Private Protective Services Board and Alarm Systems Licensing Board; and Victim Compensation Services.

Before joining GCC, Valand served as chief of staff to the President and CEO of 3D Systems, the largest 3D printing company in the world.
