Today, Governor Josh Stein and Director of Emergency Management Will Ray held a press conference to provide updates and guidance on winter weather.
“Agradecemos a todo nuestro personal de respuesta inicial, a los trabajadores de NCDOT, al personal de manejo de emergencias y a los voluntarios, también a los héroes anónimos que trabajan arduamente para mantener segura a la población de NC", expresó el gobernador Josh Stein.
“We are very appreciative of all our first responders, DOT workers, emergency management personnel, and volunteers, as well as all the unsung heroes who work hard to keep North Carolinians safe,” said Governor Josh Stein.
"Insto a todos los norcarolinianos a que, en los próximos días, sigan el pronóstico local del tiempo, se queden en casa de ser posible y, hoy mismo, hagan los preparativos finales para mantenerse seguros y sin frío este fin de semana", expresó el Gob Stein. "Habitantes de la región oeste de Carolina del Norte: Sabemos que esta tormenta está haciendo de los tiempos difíciles, algo aún más difícil de afrontar; vamos junto a ustedes todo el trayecto; no les abandonaremos.”
El 9 de enero, en anticipación a la inminente tormenta invernal, el Gob. Stein emitió una Declaración de Estado de Emergencia para todo el estado.
“I encourage all North Carolinians to monitor their local weather forecast during the next several days, stay home if possible, and make any final preparations today necessary to remain safe and warm this weekend," said Gov. Stein. "To the people of western North Carolina, we know that this storm is making a difficult time even harder. We are with you every step of the way and will not let up.”
On Jan. 9, 2025, Governor Stein declared a statewide state of emergency in advance of the impending winter storm.
