Individual Assistance (IA) is an important resource for community members recovering from a disaster. 

Public Assistance (PA) is federal assistance to state, tribal and local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities, which may include debris removal, emergency protective meastures, roads/bridges, water control facilities, buildings/equipment, utilities, and parks/recreational facilities.
