The Juvenile Jurisdiction Advisory Committee (JJAC) will meet on Friday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Governor's Crime Commission, located at 1201 Front Street, Raleigh. This meeting will also be livestreamed via YouTube.
Created as part of the Juvenile Justice Reinvestment Act within S.L. 2017-57, the JJAC is tasked with developing an implementation plan for raising the age of juvenile jurisdiction, monitoring implementation and, as needed, providing additional recommendations to the General Assembly.
This will be the final meeting of the JJAC, which per statute is scheduled to disband by Feb. 1, 2023 or upon submission of its final report to the General Assembly.
