March 5-11 is Severe Weather Preparedness Week and Governor Roy Cooper is urging North Carolinians to prepare and practice safety plans in case severe weather strikes.

N.C. Governor’s Crime Commission on Thursday released research by its Criminal Justice Analysis Center that provides new insight into domestic and family violence reported in the state of North Carolina. The report, “Justice Analysis Review: Identifying Domestic Violence in North Carolina,” provides a review of reported domestic violence that includes not only aggravated assault and homicide, but also offenses such as simple assault, kidnapping and intimidation.
