The Highway Patrol has released the names of the two troopers involved in the Friday morning chase and armed confrontation that ended with the suspect’s death. Trooper Douglas Strickland and Trooper Henry Locklear have been placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of the internal and SBI investigations.
Trooper Strickland is a 9-year veteran assigned to Robeson County.
Trooper Locklear is a 12-year veteran assigned to Robeson County.
22-year old Jamake Cason Thomas, who was pronounced dead in the vehicle, was a murder suspect wanted in Marlboro County, SC.
