With the activation of the State Emergency Response Team at the State Emergency Operation Center, the Joint Information Center (JIC) is also open to assist news media covering the storm.
The JIC will coordinate the release of information regarding state storm preparation and response. Individuals are on duty to gather the latest information and assist reporters interested in covering the state’s response to the storm. Additionally, state officials will use this center to conduct media briefings as needed. The JIC can be reached at 919-825-2599 or via email at ncempio@ncdps.gov.
Governor Cooper and state officials will hold a press conference on Tropical Storm Ian at 3 p.m. today.

Visit DriveNC.gov for traffic conditions statewide. Weather and preparedness information is also available at ReadyNC.gov.
Residents near the coast, can visit KnowYourZone.nc.gov to see if they live in a pre-determined evacuation zone. Know your zone and listen for it if evacuations are ordered by local governments.
