North Carolinians that need safe housing or post-disaster resources due to the impacts of Tropical Storm Helene can seek assistance from North Carolina Disaster Case Management (NC-DCM).
NC-DCM is available to help guide Helene survivors through the recovery process by assisting individuals with unmet needs caused by Tropical Storm Helene that live in one of the 39 impacted counties or are members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Disaster survivors may receive assistance from NC-DCM even if they have not applied for FEMA assistance.
When a disaster survivor contacts NC-DCM, a case manager will connect with them to:
- Make a recovery plan that fits their needs.
- Find available resources.
- Work through the challenges caused by Tropical Storm Helene.
“We understand that the disaster recovery process is complex. It remains the priority of the State Emergency Response Team to ensure that all North Carolinians have access to every possible resource available to facilitate their recovery from this devastating storm” said North Carolina Emergency Management Director Will Ray.
Disaster survivors can visit ncdps.gov/Helene/DCM for more information and to fill out a contact form online or call 1-844-746-2326.
