The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named Jeffery Daniels as the new superintendent at Wilkes Correctional Center in North Wilkesboro.

Five more North Carolina counties affected by Hurricane Florence are now eligible to apply for federal assistance to help pay for the cost of debris removal, emergency protective measures and permanent repair work to damaged infrastructure.

North Carolina renters who had uninsured or underinsured losses due to Hurricane Florence may be eligible for disaster recovery assistance from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The driver sought in a hit-and-run collision that occurred in Vance County was located by investigators Monday, October 22, after an intensive search. 

 

The  ReBuild NC program has now opened a ninth application center in Pender County to provide assistance to Hurricane Matthew survivors in the surrounding area.

A disaster recovery center is now open in Whiteville in Columbus County to offer in-person support to individuals and businesses in counties included in the North Carolina federal disaster declaration for Hurricane Florence.

The State of North Carolina and FEMA this week began providing the first temporary housing units to households displaced by Hurricane Florence. Other units are being delivered to a staging area in Kinston daily.
