The Department of Public Safety today honored some of the department’s most committed and exceptional employees during its annual Badge of Excellence Awards Ceremony.

As family and friends prepare for the Thanksgiving Holiday period, the State Highway Patrol is also making preparations of its own in hopes of ensuring safe travel. 

 

On Nov. 11 at approximately 2 p.m. at Bertie Correctional Institution, a confrontation between two offenders -- Bernaldo Torres (#1169757) and Quentin Holloway (#1301100) -- occurred inside a housing unit.

On Nov. 9 at approximately 7:55 a.m. at Columbus Correctional Institution, offender Gregory Adams, Jr. (#0668860) was assaulted and killed at the facility. 

The Hoke County disaster recovery center in Raeford will close permanently at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10.

RALEIGH, N.C. – The disaster recovery center in Robeson County will close temporarily at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12. The center will reopen at noon, Wednesday, Nov. 14.
