United States Attorney Thomas G. Walker announced today that local community agencies that assist crime victims will benefit from $60,012,054 that has been awarded to the State of North Carolina by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Victims of Crime (OVC).

Nineteen State Highway Patrol cadets, who endured 15 weeks of what Colonel Bill Grey called the toughest law enforcement training in the country, became state troopers today during a graduation ceremony in Cary.

What: Grand opening of the NCNG’s Tarheel Challenge Youth Academy’s central campus and ground breaking of a female dormitory. The 20-acre property has undergone a $1.9 million renovation and will begin its inaugural class this fall.

On Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 23 and 24, residents and business leaders in Pender County communities will have an opportunity to review and discuss the latest flood hazard and flood risk data.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol along with the Division of Law Enforcement Wildlife Resources Commission have released the final totals for “On the Road, On the Water, Don’t Drink & Drive Labor Day campaign.
