The State Highway Patrol proudly welcomed 30 new troopers at a graduation ceremony for the 139th basic highway patrol school.  The celebration ended 29 weeks of extensive academic and physical training. 

Raleigh, N.C. – Governor Pat McCrory and State Emergency Management officials are monitoring flooding conditions in central and eastern North Carolina following overnight rain.

Raleigh, N.C. – Governor Pat McCrory today rescinded the State of Emergency declaration effective midnight tonight for 11 counites in northeastern North Carolina.

RALEIGH – North Carolina Emergency Management deployed its Joint Mobile Operations Center today to Windsor at the request of Bertie County officials. The expandable 18-wheeler provides mobile workspace and communications capabilities, and can be used in a variety of ways.

Governor Pat McCrory provided an update on the state’s response to three States of Emergency currently in effect regarding flooding in northeastern North Carolina, civil unrest in Charlotte and the statewide fuel shortage.

Governor Pat McCrory declared a State of Emergency on Wednesday at 11:00 p.m. upon the request of Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney. The governor has also initiated efforts to deploy the North Carolina National Guard and the State Highway Patrol to assist local law enforcement.
