A Scotland Correctional Institution minimum custody offender who walked away from an off-site prison job and stole a vehicle has been captured.

LAURINBURG — Prison emergency response teams and local law enforcement are searching for offender Richard Alexander Mundy, #0296162, who left a work detail today in Scotland County.

The State Emergency Response Commission will meet via video conference on Friday, Oct. 22.

The N.C. Housing Opportunities and Prevention of Evictions (HOPE) Program marked its Oct. 15 one-year anniversary with more than a half-billion dollars in pandemic relief funds awarded to North Carolina landlords and utility companies on behalf of vulnerable families.
