The State Capitol Police is investigating a masked man armed with a handgun and spray paint on the grounds of the State Capitol. At 4:57 a.m. Saturday, State Capitol Police observed a man wearing a full face mask, gloves, heavy clothing and a backpack on the grounds.
Perren Tremayne Moss, 32, possessed a concealed .38 caliber handgun and was arrested. Moss' backpack contained cans of spray paint.
The Raleigh man was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Weapon on the State Capitol grounds, and earing a Mask on Public Property. He was confined in the Wake County Detention Center in lieu of $1,000 bond.
No property on the State Capitol grounds was damaged. No other details are available at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
