EM Resources
North Carolina Emergency Management has various resources to support local emergency managers as they respond to disasters. From highly-trained, specialized teams, to planning support and equipment resources, NCEM is available to support county agencies as they plan, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Some of the resources include:
- All Hazards Incident Management Teams can be deployed to respond to any type of emergency or hazard in various communities across the state.
- Search and Rescue Teams are trained to rescue people from rising floodwaters, trapped in mountainous terrain, lost in the woods or stranded in hazardous conditions.
- Flood maps for all 100 counties have been revised and are scheduled to be updated, on average, every five years.
- Civil Air Patrol volunteers help search for missing persons, assist with damage assessments and photograph storm damaged areas.
