In North Carolina, firearms are now the leading cause of injury-related death for children and youth, and gun thefts are on the rise. Storing firearms securely helps protect our communities by preventing unintentional shootings and suicides involving firearms, as well as theft of firearms.

The TREC Judicial Committee invites you to attend a free virtual screening of the film, Judging Juries. Followed by a 30-minute discussion with an expert panel exploring how barriers to jury duty show up in NC.

Agenda:
   I.   Co-Chair welcome and call to order (5 minutes)
II.  Introduction of Presenter (5 minutes)
III. Law Enforcement Culture, Chief Cerelyn “C.J.” Davis (40 minutes)
   IV.  Breakout groups (60 minutes)

This discussion will bring together a panel of experts from across the political spectrum to discuss the issue of juvenile life without parole and how we can make progress together.

The event will be cohosted by The Task force for Racial Equity in Criminal Justice (TREC), North Carolina Central University School of Law (NCCU Law), the Department of Adult Correction (DAC), US Attorney Office - Middle District NC (USAO) and Conservatives for Criminal Justice Reform.
