Governor Pat McCrory’s Hurricane Matthew Recovery Committee will hold its first regional meeting next week in Robeson County. Regional meetings will be held in areas throughout North Carolina that suffered effects from the hurricane.

Governor Pat McCrory announced today that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved funding to cover additional expenses to help communities in 12 counties recover and rebuild from Hurricane Matthew.

Governor Pat McCrory has sent a letter to the federal government requesting that the statewide hot food waiver be extended until November 30. This request will help meet the needs of individuals and families still affected by Hurricane Matthew.

Governor Pat McCrory’s request for Disaster Food and Nutrition Services benefits for North Carolina households impacted by Hurricane Matthew was approved today for eight additional counties.

A joint FEMA and North Carolina Emergency Management Disaster Recovery Center opens in Pasquotank County to help reach North Carolina residents who suffered losses and damage as a result of Hurricane Matthew.

The following FEMA/State Disaster Recovery Centers, with the exception of the Tyrrell center, will close Monday at 4 p.m. and remain closed through Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Governor Pat McCrory’s request for federal direct temporary housing assistance has been approved to help people displaced from their homes in Columbus, Edgecombe, Robeson and Wayne counties following his meeting with FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate.
