Money
Monetary donations to established relief agencies are always more beneficial to survivors and relief operations. Governor McCrory activated the NC Disaster Relief Fund in partnership with the United Way of North Carolina to support long-term recovery efforts.
All contributions are tax deductible. To make a donation, go to NCDisasterRelief.org or text NCRECOVERS to 30306.
Clothing/ Household Items
NCVOAD does not directly accept clothing or household items. Any in-state clothing or household items should be taken to a charitable organization in your community.
Food
- Donate food items through your local food bank -www.NCFoodBanks.org - or charities in your community.
- Note: Shelters cannot accept prepared or pre-packaged food or beverage donations from individuals or civic groups. Organizations that operate shelters must adhere to state health department guidelines to ensure that all food and beverages distributed to those staying in the shelter are safe.
