Two people face a September court date for illegally providing alcohol to a 19-year-old who is hospitalized in Pitt County with serious head injuries from crashing a vehicle, according to North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement.

The Department of Public Safety today during an open house offered community leaders and elected officials their first view of Cabarrus Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Concord.

Through an open house on Monday, Aug. 10, Department of Public Safety Secretary Frank L. Perry and W. David Guice, Commissioner of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice, will introduce elected officials and community leaders to the Cabarrus Regional Juvenile Detention Center.


On Tuesday, August 4, Rep. Virginia Foxx of North Carolina’s 5th District presented Trooper Brett Bush of Ashe County with the Purple Heart, a medal given to members of the military wounded or killed by enemy action or in action against the enemy.

The State Highway Patrol has charged the tour bus driver, Eric Jimmerson, 23, of New York, N.Y. with the following charges:

State Representatives Jamie Boles, Pat Hurley and Allen McNeill joined Department of Public Safety Secretary Frank Perry and other officials in a ribbon-cutting ceremony July 31 for a new public safety training center in Moore County.
