North Carolina Emergency Management, Adventist Community Service Disaster Response, NCVOAD, and VolunteerNC offers access to a Multi-Agency Donation Warehouse (MAW) for receiving and distributing in-kind donations to Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOADs), and eligible community partners actively serving communities and individuals impacted by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. All items received at the MAW will be inventoried, organized, and stored at the facility, and made available to eligible organizations working to support those impacted by Hurricane Helene. 

What sort of items are available through the Multi-Agency Warehouse?

Inventory at the MAW changes daily as donations are received and orders are shipped out. The below (not all-inclusive) list are general categories of items that may be available through the MAW:

How to donate items to the Warehouse 

All inbound donations must be coordinated in advance with the Multi-Agency Warehouse management team. Individuals or organizations interested in donating items to the MAW should contact the team via phone at 336-810-0661, Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm or via email at warehouseoffice@ncvoad.org.  

NOTE: The MAW is not open 24/7, and is not a drive-up public donation drop-off site! 

Restrictions/Items that will not be accepted at the Multi-Agency Warehouse

Due to the cost of cleaning, the MAW cannot accept used clothing, textiles, or furniture.

It also cannot accept:

  • Prescription medications
  • Perishable food
  • Hazardous materials
  • Weapons, alcohol or tobacco products 

Ordering from the Warehouse

What organizations may request assistance from the Multi-Agency Warehouse?

Goods received at the MAW will be made available to the following types of organizations supporting communities and/or individuals impacted by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina:

  • Current North Carolina VOAD and National VOAD members
  • Non-profits, community and faith-based organizations
  • Local government agencies

How to request assistance from the Multi-Agency Warehouse

Requesting assistance from the MAW is a two-step process:

  • First, organizations interested in receiving assistance will need to be vetted through NCVOAD to become eligible to receive donated goods. This step is necessary to ensure all donations will be directed to those assisting communities and individuals impacted by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. 
  • Once NCVOAD determines that the organization is eligible to receive assistance, they will be added to a list of approved organizations,and sent a list of items currently available for order, and instructions on how to place their order through the MAW.

Does my organization need to be a 501c3 in order to request assistance from the MAW?

No. Organizations do not need to be a 501c3 in order to be eligible, but they must be actively assisting communities and individuals impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Can individuals request assistance from the MAW?
